You may or may not know, but all BODi (formerly Beachbody) customers are assigned a coach upon signing up. You can’t be a BODi member without a BODi partner (formerly Beachbody coach). However, you can change your BODi partner.
Maybe your coach is unresponsive, focuses on selling instead of serving, leads a boring accountability group, or, maybe you’re not comfortable with an automatically assigned coach.
Whatever the reason, here is how to do a Beachbody coach change.
how to change your bodi partner (beachbody coach) or find a good one
First, BODi did a huge rebrand in 2023. Beachbody and Beachbody On Demand are now called BODi and the Team Beachbody coaches are now referred to as BODi partners.
And now starting January 1st, more changes. Here’s a quick update.
Fall 2024 Update:
We’re doing our best to keep this article up to date, but in the last year, BODi (Formerly Beachbody) and now BODi by Beachbody has gone through a dizzying number of changes. The biggest change is yet to come on January 1st when they roll all their businesses into BODi.com.
Until then, please leave a comment if you have a question and we’ll do our best to help out. If you’re looking for accountability, you can still join our BODgroup. This feature should continue even though BODi Partners/Coaches will be dismissed.
Before January 1st, use our BODi promo code ALEXANDRAD1START15 for an additional 15% off.
Lastly, if you’re a former Partner/Coach with questions about how to navigate these changes, please email us and we have some tools and partnerships to share.
Since you’re wondering how to change your Beachbody coach, you likely arrived here for one of three reasons.
1. You want us to be your coach(es) or partner(s).
You have already read one of our informative Beachbody articles (and hopefully commented or emailed with questions) and you want to request us as your coach(es). Please do so with the below Beachbody coach change form.
Info needed: Alexandra Davis, hello@ryanandalex.com, Coach ID 335656.
2. Your coach is a dud.
It happens. Some BODi partners just aren’t engaged. It’s important to have a coach that helps you reach your goals. In a sense, you’re paying for that service when you sign up.
It’s probably time to switch to get your money’s worth.
3. Wait a minute… I already have a coach/partner??
Maybe you arrived here because you were wondering, “How do I get a BODi partner?” Well, you actually already have one. Every customer is automatically assigned a coach.
If you were unaware and want to be assigned to a friend who is a BODi partner, or another coach of your choosing, you’ll need to do the Beachbody coach change.
What’s The Benefit Of a BODi Partner?
Beachbody’s and now BODi’s programs are so successful because of the coaches who support customers and provide accountability.
Need proof? Well, 13 out of the 14 contestants from the 2016 season of the TV show, The Biggest Loser, gained all of their weight back and more.
Incidentally, the one contestant who did not gain her weight back was following Beachbody programs and likely part of an accountability and support group. Having a coach is an accountability tool.
So, does that mean all coaches are experienced and helpful? Well, not always.
A good coach should be…
- Responding to your questions
- Offering an accountability group
- Giving thoughtful program recommendations as you progress
- Supporting all of their customers (not just the ones buying Shakeology or supplements each month)
We do all of the above and if you want us to be your coach(es) you get a two-for-one deal. Here’s how we work.
We never contact you with anything promotional and always respond thoughtfully to your questions through email or our BODgroup.
Since we have been following Beachbody programs (all of them) since 2008 and drinking Shakeology since 2014, we have a lot of experience.
Additionally, we have helped over 15,000 customers, and, according to Google, in 2022 alone our Beachbody related articles were read by 130,254 readers. The top articles were:
- The 8 Best Beachbody Workouts Based On Results
- The 6 Best BODi Products Of All Time
- The Best Shakeology Alternatives Based On Data (Not Opinion)
- How Much is Shakeology a Month and What’s The Catch?
Lastly, since Beachbody coaching is only a small portion of our business (our lifestyle website for couples) our advice is less bias and we often share tools outside the Beachbody umbrella.
Okay, elevator pitch over. Here’s how to change your BODi partner online.
How to Change Beachbody Coach
You used to be able to submit a coach change request via phone or email, however, now you are required to fill out the Coach Change Form on the Beachbody website.
You can access the form below.
Once you click on that link, you’ll first need to sign in to your Beachbody account. Then, you will need to enter the name or email address of your new coach.
If you’ll be requesting us as your coach(es), here is the info needed:
Alexandra Davis, hello@ryanandalex.com, BODi partner ID: 335656
Again, please email us if you have any issues or questions.
If you don’t want us and you don’t have another coach in mind, the next section will outline the best ways to get a good Beachbody coach.
How to find a Beachbody Coach
It’s important that you find the right BODi partner. So, how do you find the right one?
1. Find a local coach at a gym
Maybe you want a coach who is local. Since Google searching “Beachbody coach near me” turns up nothing helpful, we recommend asking a few local gyms if any of their trainers are also Beachbody coaches.
2. Ask friends and coworkers
Rather than searching “Top Beachbody coaches” or “Best Beachbody coaches to follow,” ask your friends and coworkers if they have a coach they can vouch for. Then you get a bonus accountability buddy.
3. Search Facebook or Instagram
Lastly, browse social media. That’s where almost every partner hangs out. Plus, you can find a few that you like, follow them for a few weeks, and decide for yourself who is the best fit.
Wherever you find them, make sure that they are running an accountability group on Facebook or through BODgroups (Beachbody’s accountability and support app).
Just to make sure it’s perfect, you can even ask them to add you to their accountability group before you make the coach switch.
Change Beachbody COach Faqs
Here, we’ll do our best to address any additional questions you may have about a BODi partner change. If you still have questions, please reach out in the comments section.
Do you have to sign up under a coach/partner?
Yes, there is actually no way around it.
Will my old coach be notified if I switch coaches?
No, your old coach will not know that you requested a new coach. Only you and your new coach are notified. Since it’s easy for your new coach to miss the notification, make sure you reach out and introduce yourself and your goals.
How long does it take to switch my BODi Partner?
Once your new partner is assigned, you will receive an email confirming the change within two days of submitting your request.
Can my coach see if I work out?
They can only see if you workout if you’re in their BODgroup and choose to share your workouts.
How do I remove my BODi coach?
As a BODi customer, you will always have a coach assigned to you. While you cannot remove your coach, you can opt to have them not contact you. However, it’s best to have a coach that enhances your Beachbody membership.

I have been with BB for several years . I have switched coaches 3 times – one because she no longer did accountability groups , one kept bringing her religion into it , current one because she doesn’t have time to help and her accountability group is huge. . I don’t know if I’m a preferred customer or not but I do know it’s been 6 months with current one . I follow BB workouts every day , walk 3 miles a day , love the workouts . Want to become a great coach . Had breast cancer, mastectomy, have to modify some. Am not the best at technology. Think I have found a good coach but worry she will let me down .
Hey Anne!
Wow, congratulations on overcoming breast cancer! What an inspiring story and we wish you all the health in the future.
I’m optimistic that you’ve found a good coach as well. As busy coaches ourselves with a one-year-old, we find it helpful when customers email us or reach out directly when they need help — it’s even more helpful than posting in the accountability BODGroup sometimes because it creates a more personal connection and we can better prioritize their questions when it’s in our inbox. I’m sure that your new coach will respond quickly if you can email!
As for being a preferred customer, it requires a $15.95 USD monthly subscription, which in turn gives you 25% off of products like Shakeology. This is one way to check, or else it should say in your account information.
For the 6 month waiting period for a preferred customer to switch coaches, can they still be a regular customer with BODi under their original coach, or do they have to totally cancel everything and then wait 6 months before they switch?
Hi Renee,
Thanks for the question! I just chatted with BODi customer service on this to double check to make sure I had it right.
From the time of cancellation of Preferred Customer status, you can reactivate 3 months later if your partner has changed. In the meantime, you can continue as a regular customer with BODi.
If you remain with the same partner, you can reactivate Preferred Customer service any time, immediately. Here is the information page I was directed to.
In regards to switching partners, the request can be submitted any time. There are two different forms, depending on if you’re a Preferred Customer or regular customer right now. I’ve linked to those too.
I hope this helps! I’ll update the article with this information too to help others. And if it turns out you were considering us as your coaches, we would love to have you. Thanks so much!
